Ormskirk Food and Drink Market with a Visit to Rufford Old Hall

NEW for 2025

Ormskirk Food & Drink Market

A brand new social space to Ormskirk town centre, with six delicious food traders cooking up a storm, live music every weekend, immersive games, two retail units housing local independents, and a full bar area showing live sports.

Welcome to Ormskirk Food & Drink Market, the original indoor market hall brought back to life as an immersive social space to eat, meet and play – all under one historic roof! Our market offers seven traders serving up a variety of tasty street food to be enjoyed in the original market hall or up on the mezzanine dining space. In the bar area, we have an abundant drinks menu to enjoy ‘til late and here you’ll find our stage, showcasing live music throughout the weekend, plus live sports streaming across multiple screens! Whether it's family hangouts, fun with friends, doggy days, celebrations or date nights, the Market is a space for everyone to eat, meet and play.

Rufford Old Hall

Be wowed by the Tudor Great Hall with its fantastic furniture, arms, armour, tapestries and the carved oak screen, a rare survivor from the 1500s. History springs to life in the Hesketh's dining room, its food-laden table, lit candles and 'fire in the hearth' waiting to welcome the family's dinner guests.

And did Shakespeare spend a short time here in his youth? There’s reasonable evidence to suggest that he could once have known Rufford’s Great Hall for a few months whilst still in his teens. Ask us about the evidence and decide for yourself!

Then relax as you stroll through Rufford's Victorian and Edwardian gardens - and remember you're only a few feet (or metres) above sea level - making Rufford one of the lowest lying National Trust gardens in England.
