Itinerary
Mon - Morning departure as we make our way to Aberystwyth. Perched in a totally stunning area of West Wales, Aberystwyth is a gorgeous town that has thousands of years of history. In fact, with all the history, quaint little foodie spots and sites to see it's a totally lovely place. We late continue to our hotel for check in.
Tue - Today, we visit the fascinating Royal Mint. This unique attraction takes visitors behind the scenes of coin making and it is the only place in the world where you can watch the United Kingdom's coins being made. We visit the exhibition, which houses many rare and historic coins, such as the 1,100-year-old Alfred the Great penny. We later continue to Cardiff Bay for some time before we make our way back to the hotel.
Wed - Todays day excursion takes us to Rhondda Heritage Park on the Black Gold underground tour. Your guide, a former miner who worked in the coal mines of the Rhondda Valleys, will take you underground and back in time. Ride the simulated DRAM! back to the surface – hold on tight! Free digital and interactive displays bring history to life. Learn how the miners, colliery owners and communities lived while Rhondda coal powered the world. Later making our way to Swansea for some free time.
Thu - This morning, we visit the beautiful Welsh capital, Cardiff. You will have free time in this fascinating city to discover some of the main sights. This afternoon, we will visit the 17th-century Hensol Castle and Distillery. Enjoy a guided tour and learn more about the history of the castle and the origins of Welsh Gin. With a tutored gin tasting session to round the day off, plenty of memories will be made.
Fri - After breakfast we depart the hotel and make our way to Ludlow, Some free time before we continue with the homeward journey.
