Join us on a four-day tour of discovery though Hertfordshire to discover more of this scenic county’s heritage, spectacular stately home and famous De Havilland Aircraft Museum. Hatfield is famous for connection to Elizabeth I, however, holds the greatest fascination for visitors. The Rainbow Portrait and The Ermine Portrait of Elizabeth are in the main house, along with her hat, gloves, and a pair of her silk stockings, thought to be the first hosiery of its kind in England.

The Comet Hotel, Hatfield The stylish art-deco Comet Hotel, named after the iconic de Havilland Comet aircraft is the perfect base for your tour. Close to the Galleria shopping mall and cinema complex, hotel facilities include a lounge and welcoming bar area to meet up with new friends. Deluxe rooms located in a separate modern building just 25 metres from the hotel entrance feature hairdryer, flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, bathroom amenities and tea/coffee making facilities. Within this building there is a lift and ground floor rooms available.
Fri - This morning we depart the local area and make our way Cambridge for some free time with its beauty, history and culture. We later continue to the hotel.
Sat - After breakfast, we travel to the De Havilland Aircraft Museum for a 2 hour guided tour followed by light refreshments. Getting up close to the planes, we will learn more about its history and the incredible contribution that de Havilland made to British Aviation for over 80 years. Afterwards, we have free time to explore St Albans, known for its impressive Cathedral and Verulamium Museum, on the site of a major Roman city.
Sun - Today we visit magnificent Hatfield House for a fascinating guided tour. This fine Jacobean House set with beautiful formal gardens features a series of lavishly decorated rooms including the Marble Hall and the King James Drawing room. Marvel at the galleries and artefacts on display – it’s a real treasure. This afternoon, we have free time in the village of Welwyn, famous for the remains of well-preserved Roman Baths.
Mon - After breakfast we depart the hotel and make our way to Oxford with some of the oldest gothic architecture in England! We later continue the homeward journey.
