Whitby Day Trip

Extreme Day Trips

Whitby is known for its picturesque harbour, stunning cliff-top views, and historic abbey ruins. The town has a rich history, with evidence of human habitation dating back to the Bronze Age.
A trip to Whitby would not be the same without climbing the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, counting as you go, and exploring the beautiful ruins which tower over the town. Many flock to Whitby for its boutique shops and quirky streets, where you will find unique Whitby jet jewellery and other fascinating items.

Our visit is during the famous Whitby Goth Weekend.

Held annually in April and October, the gothic gathering began in 1994 and now attracts large crowds to Whitby's cobbled streets.

Inspired by the town's association with Bram Stoker's novel Dracula, it started out as a one-off meeting of pen-friends in The Elsinore pub.
